Bring me the thing that keeps you up.
Every system has one: the part nobody wants to touch, the decision that keeps getting postponed, the idea that never quite gets a start. I'd like to sit with it, together.
I offer software engineering consulting for founders, small teams and engineers: architecture reviews, Go backends, Postgres, identity and passkey sign-in, realtime systems, and running software on your own infrastructure.
Three ways we might work together.
Think it through
Architecture, trade-offs, the shape of a backend, how to run it all yourself. A real conversation with someone who has built these things and lived with the consequences.
Make it fit
Love one of the lab's tools but it is missing the one thing your team needs? We can shape it to your world, so it feels like it was always yours.
Keep it healthy
Running one of these tools for real people? I'll help it stay current, observable and calm, so you can stop worrying about it.
Where I'm at home.
The lab is the proof. These are the things I keep reaching for.
How a first conversation goes.
Questions people ask first.
What kind of software consulting do you do?
Architecture and design reviews, Go backends, Postgres, identity and passkey sign-in, realtime systems, and running software on your own infrastructure. If it is a software problem you cannot quite name yet, that is a fine place to start.
Can you help us self-host our own sign-in?
Yes. I built ids, a passkey-first identity server, so I can help you decide whether to run your own, how to deploy it, and what to look after once it is live.
Do I have to use your tools?
No. The lab's tools are free and you are welcome to use them, but consulting is separate. I will work with whatever stack you already have.
Who is this for?
Founders, small teams and engineers who want an experienced second opinion, or a hand with a system that has become heavy.
How does a first conversation go?
You write to me and describe what is weighing on you. We talk it through, and you leave with a clearer next step.
